COE Provost Takes a Hands-On Tour of the Bolgatanga Learning Centre

On Thursday, August 10, 2023, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Provost of the College of Education, embarked on a working visit to the Bolgatanga Learning Centre.  This insightful visit was undertaken with the aim of gaining an in-depth understanding of the challenges and concerns faced by the Centre.

Dr. Samuel Nuamah Eshun, the Centre Coordinator, extended a warm welcome to Professor Codjoe and his team.

During the visit, Professor Codjoe held a meeting with the Centre’s staff to glean first-hand information about ongoing activities and initiatives.  He affirmed the College’s commitment to establish a committee tasked with evaluating the sustainability proposals submitted by Centre Coordinators, ultimately making recommendations for decision-making by Management.

In his discussions, the Provost underscored the need for innovative strategies to bolster the Centre’s competitive edge.  He encouraged the Centre to explore opportunities for revenue generation, pushing them to surpass expectations in both service quality and delivery.  This, he firmly believed, would secure the Centre’s preeminent position in the face of mounting competition.

The visit also provided an invaluable platform for the Centre staff to engage with officers responsible for human resource, finance and other administrative aspects.

The meeting ended with an inspection of the ongoing renovation works at the Centre to ascertain the progress of work.   This was led by the Centre Coordinator.

Accompanying the Provost were; Mr. Michael Owusu Ansah, the College Finance Officer, Mrs. Jocelyn Boateng, College Human Resource Officer, Ms. Dorinda Nbinmah Yeboah, Assistant Registrar at the Provost’s Office, Mr. Kwadzo Mawufemor, College Facilities Manager, Ms. Agnes Baidoo, Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Prince Boateng Blay, Senior Administrative Assistant at the Provost’s Office, Mr. Evans Abankwah, Senior Administrative Assistant at the Academic Affairs Unit, Mr. Godfred Takala, National Service Personnel at the Annual New Year School, and Mr. Joseph Akoto, National Service Personnel at the UG Printing Press.
