New MD of GCB Bank Pledges Continued Support for University of Ghana Projects

In the interest of continuity, the new Managing Director of GCB Bank, Mr. Farihan Alhassan, has reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to its partnership with the University of Ghana on various developmental and infrastructural projects. He made this known during a visit by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo and a team from UG to the Bank’s Head Office.

Mr. Alhassan assured that GCB Bank will continue to offer internship opportunities, explore partnerships for student accommodation and support UG’s renewable energy initiatives. He mentioned that the Bank’s impact goes beyond profits, as it remains committed to improving lives and contributing to national development.

Prof. Amfo welcomed these commitments, congratulated the new MD and wished him success in his role. She also expressed appreciation for the Bank’s ongoing partnership, including support for the new Paediatric Block at the University Hospital and campus infrastructure. The Vice-Chancellor invited the Bank’s Management to leverage UG’s expertise in research and advisory services for mutual benefit. She also shared copies of the University's 2024-2029 Strategic Plan with him.
