University of Ghana Business School Donates Three Pickup Vehicles to Various Units
The University of Ghana Business School has donated three pickup vehicles to various units in the University, in order to support the operationalisation and delivery of the mandates of the units.
The vehicles were presented to the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD), the Security Services Unit and the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies at a brief event at the forecourt of the Business School.
Delivering brief remarks, Prof. Justice N. Bawole, Dean of the Business School, explained that the donations were intended to enhance the mobility of these units both within and outside campus.
“Upon taking office, it became clear that some vehicles needed replacement to support the school's cross-country activities. Instead of auctioning the vehicles as done previously, we decided to donate some to university departments facing mobility challenges, thereby facilitating their on-campus and in-town activities.” Prof. Bawole said.
He also mentioned that additional vehicles would be donated to other units after undergoing necessary checks and repairs. The Dean also urged the units to take good care of the vehicles by using them effectively and conducting regular maintenance.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the units, the Registrar of the University, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, highlighted the importance of the Business School's continued support to other university units.
“Allocating resources to benefit other units within the university is crucial,” she remarked. She encouraged the school to keep supporting various units to enhance university activities.
Mrs. Agyei-Mensah presented the vehicles to the respective departments on behalf of the school's management.
Mr. Peter Abalansah, Acting Director of PDMSD, expressed gratitude for the donation. “We are thankful to the Business School for their generous donation,” he said. “We pledge to use the vehicles to support the university’s activities.” He also encouraged the Business School to continue sharing its resources with other units.
